Tormented by Susan Clayton-Goldner

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The main character, Detective Paul Harley Stanwick or Stan, is called to the scene of a murder or suicide of a big criminal defense lawyers wife.

Father Anthony is a well know priest. He helps everyone he can. He is the priest of the deceased woman that Stan is investigating. Last one to see her alive. Nothing is as perfect as it may seem. Slowly things come together for Detective Stan. Not in any way he ever expected.

This is a complex murder mystery. All the characters are well developed. The detective is an awesome character. Far from perfect. 62 years old, bitter about what’s gone on in his life. He follows this case wherever it goes. This is a page turner. So many twists and turns it’s impossible to put your finger on the murderer. Jaw dropping ending.

I would like to thank the author for my advanced readers copy. This is my voluntary review reflecting my own unbiased opinions.

Blessed Mayhem by Sue Coletta (Book 2 in the Mayhem series)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book in the Mayhem series.   It’s a stand alone book.  You do not have to have read the first book to understand this one.

This is an unique story.  Shawnee Daniels works in cyber crimes by day, cat burglar by night.  Shawnee has had a hard life and has a lot of baggage as a result.  Shawnee accidentally crosses paths with a cereal killer.  This serial killer is an amazing and different type of character.  All these things together make for a page turner.  One of those rare books you will want to stay up all

Horns of the Devil. A Jeff Trask Legal Thriller by Marc Rainer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book in the Jeff Trask legal thriller series. Action packed thriller taking place in Washington, D.C. Jeff Trask is an assistant district attorney and the main character in this book. Murder, drug trafficking and gang violence are the focus of Trask and his task force. Who is actually behind numerous murders and why are they happening.

There are many characters in this book. They are all well defined. The interaction between them is so real you forget this is fiction. Action packed page turner.

The Manifest by Anne Carmichael

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is a series of fictional short stories about people involved in real train wrecks. The author designed some impressive stories around true train crashes. All the train recks did happen. This is a part of our history that was very interesting to learn about. The stories span centuries.

This is a historical Cozy Mystery. Easy read. The stories of these characters before and after death as train crash victims is captivating. I really enjoyed this book.

The Haunting of Dr. Bowen: Mystery of Lizzy Borden’s Fall River

D54AD466-7F15-4926-827F-701C200F4018⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dr.Bowden was Lizzy Borden’s neighbor, doctor, first at the crime scene and he testified at her trial. These are facts. This is a work of fiction which picks up after all of this is over and Dr. Bowen is retired. Dr. Bowden tells this story. Often through conversations he recounts with his wife.
Dr Bowen is haunted. By what he doesn’t know. He is trying to figure things out. What’s real and isn’t real is questionable to him and the reader at times.
This is a brilliantly imaginative story. The author did an awesome job of bringing reality into this work of fiction. Statements taken directly from the court records are peppered throughout. The actual transcript from the trial is included at the end of this book.
The characters are well defined. This is an enjoyable and easy read. You can enjoy this even if you do not know the story of Lizzy Borden
